    Dr. Evangelos Pallis, holds a BEng degree in Electronics Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Crete (1994), a Masters diploma in Telecommunications (1997) and a PhD degree from the University of East Londonv(1997 and 2003 respectively). From 2000 to 2005 he acted as research associate at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, NCSR Demokritos, while from 2005 to 2021 he was faculty member of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the Hellenic Mediterranean University. Currently, he acts as full professor at the department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering of the University of West Attica. In the framework of his academic activities, he has supervised more than 70 undergraduate final year projects theses, 3 MSc theses and 7 successfully completed PhD dissertations. He has participated to 14 National-funded programmes, 18 EU-funded competitive R&D projects. He has co authored more than 150 scientific papers in peer-reviewed conferences, scientific journals and books, accumulating more than 2400 citations with h-index 27 in Google Scholar, and more than 1500 citations h-index=22 in Scopus. He acts as member of the IEE/IET and IEEE/ComSoc, member of the Editorial Board (Regional Editor) for the Information Technology Journal and the Research Journal of Information Technology (Science Alert), reviewer in a number of scientific publications such as the IEEE Network Magazine, COMNET (Elsevier), Journal of Network and Computer Applications (MDPI). He is the General Chair of the “International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia” (TCS by IEEE/ComSoc) and participates in the standardisation of IETF CDNi and the ETSI “NG112 Emergency Communications Plugtests. He also holds a patent in the European Patent Office, EP3301945 (A1).

    I am currently associate professor at University of West Attica. From 2007-2017, I acted as ass. professor at Technological Educational Institute of StereaEllada. My research interests lie mainly in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies including a) routing protocols and trust management in Wireless Sensor Networks, b) control plane technologies in broadband networks including HFC, PON, WDM metro and core networks and c) industrial, embedded and network system design and development. Currently I am working on blockchain technologies, federated learning, IoT enabled systems and gamification for various application sectors including social innovation, education and participatory approaches. I am also a visiting professor at the Hellenic Open University.

    Grigoris Nikolaou is Lecturer at the University of West Attica, Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering (formerly Department of Automation) since 2012.  He received his M.Sc. in Control Systems from the Department of Automatic Control of the University of Sheffield in 1998 and his PhD from the same Department in 2002. He has worked for more than 10 years as a Control Systems engineer on Industrial and Building Automation projects.  He participated as Research Associate, in a number of European, British and Greek National research programs.
