M.U.St – My University STudies

My University Studies or aka M.U.St is an initiative from LCIIS research Laboratory of UniWA to create an ecosystem of applications utilizing state-of-the-art technologies (such as Blockchain) to keep up with the Web 3.0 advancements, in order to provide the students with alternative ways to prove their academic credentials and profiling, within the environment of the university.  Harnessing some of Blockchain’s most known features of data immutability, treatability and smart contract implementation logic, M.U.St targets to tokenize students’ academic identity and credentials, while using cryptographic mechanisms in order to provide verification without compromising personal data security preserving anonymization. Based on the W3C standards of DIDs and VCs, a proof of concept for three applications has been developed, where each of three different entities, namely the tutor, the student and the service verifier can perform a number of actions in order to respectively provide grades, prove their academic identity and verify the validity of students’ credentials, such as the Library Pass.
